From print to SoLoMo

I have not recorded all my recent posts on different blogs here but today I posted on the MBF website a blog about modern methods of promotion and described SoLoMo and the impact of the 3 aspects of social, local and mobile that it refers to.

2012 AIBs

I am continuing to work on business development for the Association for International Broadcasting.

We are just starting the publicity and involvement of broadcasters and media companies throughout the world in the 2012 AIBs, international media excellence awards so it is time to start blogging regularly again on theaibs.tv, the website dedicated to the AIBs.

Yesterday I reported the first two sponsors for the awards – http://theaibs.tv/first-sponsors-announced-for-2012-aibs/

and today it was an announcement of the official launch of entries on Monday – http://theaibs.tv/launch-of-entries-for-2012-aibs-on-monday/

Leadership: objectives but also values

Comment on Paul Sloane blog on “Empower Your People” – leaders should set objectives then not micro-manage.  They should then use the time freed up to make sure that the objectives are well set and not too short term, and that the organisation’s values are well understood and embedded

Apps for TVs or Apps about TV?

TV apps can be general apps which use the TV as the display screen and the remote as the input or they can be apps that relate to or discuss TV programmes.  In this post on the website of The AIBs I discuss the importance of the second group to broadcasters

A correction

I had informed members of Mayfield Business Forum earlier this week that credit unions were giving business loans and suggested the name of our local credit union.  But it turns out that this credit union is not offering business loans – yet.

So my latest pos on the MBF site apologises and sets the record straight.

Does being really well-judged and well-presented make marketing outstanding?

A new post on my marketing blog discusses whether good, interesting content and excellent execution makes a blog remarkable in the way that Seth Godin suggests is necessary to attract customers.
